All About Mrs. Blake
My name is Leslie D. Blake and I am thrilled to be the Math Coach and Administrative Intern at Wakefield Elementary this year!
I was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois (90 miles NW of Chicago). I have two older sisters and one younger brother. I graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education. I taught 4th grade in Illinois before moving to Raleigh in 2002. In Wake County, I have taught 3rd grade, 4th grade, and 4th/5th grade math intervention. This is my fourth year as a math coach, and I absolutely LOVE partnering with teachers to collaborate on ways to ensure success for ALL students.
I live with my husband of seven years, Douglas, and our 3 year old son Gabriel. In our spare time we enjoy cooking out, game nights, traveling, dancing, and roller skating. When I get time to myself, I enjoy reading and watching HGTV.
Some other random favorites are earrings (never leave home without them), flip-flops, lemonade, Mexican cuisine, handbags, and my iPhone.
